New Fundraising Board Chair for the AFP U.S. Foundation for Philanthropy, Paul A. Dunne, CFRE

(Arlington, Virginia) Paul A. Dunne, CFRE will serve in an inaugural one-year term as the chair of the AFP U.S. Foundation for Philanthropy Fundraising Board in 2024. Mr. Dunne is the principal/philanthropic advisor at The NonProfit Group, based in Dallas, TX.  He has been a member of AFP since 2009 and has previously served in numerous positions within AFP at chapters, on the AFP Global Board and with the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy.

In this new role, Mr. Dunne will also serve on the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Governing Board. As part of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy’s 2023-2025 Strategic Plan and new bylaws, the role of chair has been split between the Governing Board and the Fundraising Board. Melissa Ryan Penland, MPA, senior associate vice president for development at Clemson University will continue as chair of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Governing Board for her second year.
