AFP members are always accepting new challenges and exciting career opportunities, as well as receiving accolades for their commitment to service.  Here are recent job announcements, promotions and recognitions.

Pamela Becker, CFRE has been named executive director of the Foundation for Rural Service in Arlington, Va.  She is excited to be returning to the Washington, DC area after 22 years as a fundraiser in San Diego, Calif.

Christina Ferris has assumed a new role as development director at the St. Louis Center in Chelsea, Mich. She was formerly the development director at Crim Fitness Foundation in Flint, Mich.

Daphne Keys, CFRE recently moved from development director at Global Hope Network International in Orlando, Fla. to program manager at Inua Partners in Hope, a ministry of the First UMC in Winter Park, Fla.

Ann-Marie Meacham, MPA, CFRE has been appointed as executive director for the Menlo Atherton Foundation for the Future in Menlo Park, Calif.  She previously served as executive director at the Fremont Union High Schools Foundation in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Mary Moss and Susan Ross, founders and partners of moss+ross, llc, which provides fundraising, executive search and campaign consulting to nonprofits in central North Carolina, were recently featured as "Women of Distinction" by Durham Magazine for their work strengthening area nonprofits.

Kelly Stolar, CFRE, development director at the Inner-City Neighborhood Art House in Erie, Penn. was recently awarded the Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence. This honor recognizes her voluntary service teaching dance through Tap Essentials, a volunteer program she established that aims at providing students from any studio in Erie the opportunity to receive free lessons, as well as to partake in dance workshops taught by professional dancers throughout the world and compete for scholarship awards.

Tracy Vanderneck, MSM, CFRE, president of Phil-Com Training & Consulting in Bradenton, Fla. is pleased to announce that Phil-Com was recently named a Manatee County Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for 2019.

Hani Almadhoun has been named director of development at Muslim Advocates in Washington, D.C.  He previously served as director of donor development and managed donor relations and fundraising for American Near East Refugee Aid.

Bill Bartolini, Ph.D., ACFRE

Bill Bartolini, Ph.D., ACFRE, the current senior philanthropic advisor at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, has announced his retirement. In his 39 years in the fundraising profession, Bill has worked for George Washington University, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (now Learning Ally), Northeastern University, and Kent State University. In addition to serving as mentor, coach, educator, and counselor to those who raise philanthropic support, he has been a prominent volunteer with AFP having served on the board of AFP and the AFP Foundation.

Nancy M. Brown, CFRE has been named executive director of the Winona Community Foundation in Winona, Minn. She was previously senior development director at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Paula Brown, CFRE has been promoted to chief development and engagement officer at The Corner Health Center in Ypsilanti, Mich.  She was also recognized as a distinguished volunteer by the AFP Greater Detroit Chapter last November.

Shawn Cote has been hired as the director of development for Community Rowing Inc. in Brighton, Mass.

Ben DeLost, CFRE has been named assistant director of annual giving at Delta Sigma Phi Foundation in Indianapolis, Ind.

Terri Forman, MSOD, CFRE has been promoted to executive director at First Graduate in San Francisco, Calif. She previously served as senior director of philanthropy and marketing at the organization.

Jess Hohulin has joined LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry in South Bend, Ind., as their major gifts officer.

Sondra Lintelmann-Dellaripa, president of Harvest Development Group, LLC in Middletown, Conn., was recently awarded the prestigious 2019 Impact Award/Private Sector from the National Grants Management Association for her work with the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in establishing a granting office for the Academy, the first of its kind at any federal service academy.

Thaddeus Teo, CFRE has joined the Seattle University School of Law as director of alumni relations and annual giving.  He previously served as donor relations manager at the United Way of King County in Seattle, Wash.  Recently, Thad also joined the AFP Advancement Northwest Chapter board of directors and earned his CFRE certification.

Amy Towery, CFRE has been hired as vice president of development at Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee in Bradenton, Fla.  She served previously as chief advancement officer at The Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Fla.

Kay Amland has joined the Washington County Humane Society in Slinger, Wis., as the director of development.  Most recently she was director of development at the Mequon Nature Preserve in Mequon, Wis.

Lisa M. Blackwelder has been named the director of development at United Against Poverty, Inc. in Orlando, Fla.  She was formerly with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida.

Carolyn Kozuch DeFrancesco, J.D. has been promoted to senior director of planned giving at Elon University in Elon, N.C.  She was formerly the director of planned giving at the University.

Lisa Ireland has been named vice president for institutional advancement at the Rochester Museum and Science Center in Rochester, N.Y. She was previously director of agency advancement at the Mary Cariola Children's Center.

Donna C. Marino Kirtland, CFRE MBA, has been named executive director of The Live Well Foundation of South Lake County in South Lake County, Fla.  Previously, she was the statewide director of development for the Florida Bar Foundation.

Michelle Paulus has joined the Armed Services YMCA of Fort Bragg in Fort Bragg, N.C. as director of development.

Allison Quintanilla Plattsmier, Ed.D., CFRE, CNP, SHRM-CP, aPHR has joined the Jordan Thomas Foundation in Chattanooga, Tenn. as their executive director.  Previously, she was the executive director of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature Foundation in Nashville, Tenn.

Clarissa Reis has been named director of leadership gifts for the Parkview Foundation in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was previously the director of development for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.

Chiara Sani has been named director of major gifts for the Girl Scouts of Northern California in Alameda, Calif. She was previously director of development at the Bowman School in Palo Alto, Calif.
