National Philanthropy Day® Spotlight: Sarah Malchow
Sarah Malchow, 2021 Scott M. Cutlip Professional Fundraiser Award, AFP Wisconsin – Southeastern Chapter
For nearly 20 years, Sarah has been active in nonprofit leadership and fund-development on both the international and local scale. From her work with an international mission and humanitarian aid organization to higher education, United Way, and now in the senior sector—her commitment to serving others is what drives her.
Sarah helps organizations support their mission and vision through strategic resource development, entrepreneurial vision, compelling storytelling, brand refinement, and collaborative leadership. Over the span of her career, she has served roles in communications, community engagement and investment, fund development—annual fund giving, planned giving, corporation and foundation relations, and major gifts—and executive leadership while in Texas and the Greater Milwaukee Area.
Sarah believes that fundraising truly is the marriage of art and science and she enjoys coaching others to be more successful and confident in their craft. It gives her pleasure to connect donors to causes that align with their beliefs and to help them accomplish their philanthropic goals. She is committed to serving donors with the utmost transparency, integrity, honesty, humility, boldness and joy.
Her credo: Our work is a privilege. We have a responsibility to our donors who give us their hard-earned dollars. We have the opportunity to improve our communities and our neighbors' lives. We have the joy of doing good.
Sarah lives happily in Jackson with her husband Phil, her two children, Ezekiel and Abigail, and their cranky dog, Gidget. She is the 2021 Scott M. Cutlip Professional Fundraiser awardee, honored by the AFP Wisconsin – Southeastern Chapter.
